Forgotten Events, People and Places
I view research as an intriguing detective story. The task is to decipher and recall forgotten events and the people involved, and to reposition them in time and space. It's like discovering a new place, or seeing an old place in a new light. It's also like restoring a mythical original unity and recovering the truth. I am particularly interested in 'little-known things' – people and events that have been undeservedly forgotten and are difficult or even impossible to access. However, it is the path to discovery that provides the excitement and satisfaction of research.
