Video of the conference ‘Testament of Growth. 90 Years of Imants Ziedonis’

The Ziedonis Museum, the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (UL ILFA), and the Tukums Museum organized the academic conference “Testament of Growth. 90 Years of Imants Ziedonis”, dedicated to the poet’s 90th birthday. The conference took place on 29 August 2023 at Durbe Palace.

The conference recording is now available on the UL ILFA YouTube channel.

At the conference, leading scholars in literary studies, folkloristics, philosophy, and art history, as well as representatives of memory institutions and contemporaries of Imants Ziedonis, discussed various aspects of the poet’s work. The papers explored intersections between Ziedonis’s poetry and philosophy, nature, spirituality, and Latvian folklore, analyzed his public activities, his role as a translator, the legacy preserved in museum collections, and highlighted the continuation of Ziedonis’s ideas today.
