UL ILFA representatives take part in the ‘Building Archival Communities’ project events in Norway
This week, leading researchers of the Latvian Folklore Archives at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (UL ILFA) — Rita Grīnvalde and Sanita Reinsone — together with UL ILFA senior programmer Uldis Ķirsis, are visiting the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History – Centre for Ethnological Research. The visit takes place within the framework of the Nordic Culture Fund–supported project “Building Archival Communities,” which is hosting working group meetings and exchanges of experience on cooperation with local communities and public engagement in enriching and improving digital cultural heritage resources.
On 21 September, an “Archive Festival” organized by the Norwegian Centre for Ethnological Research took place, welcoming members of Norwegian volunteer communities who actively participate in memory-collection initiatives and manuscript transcription projects organized by the research centre and the folklore archive.
