The 5th episode of the podcast “Digital Humanities”“Digital Humanities Studies at Riga Technical University” — has been released. In this episode, Haralds Matulis speaks with Dr. Professor Marina Platonova, Director of the Master’s Programme in Digital Humanities at Riga Technical University (RTU).

This episode focuses on Digital Humanities education at RTU. Dr. Platonova discusses the main directions of the Master’s programme, reflects on its origins, and explains the growing importance of this field among other study programmes available in Latvia. The conversation also highlights the three most common student profiles who choose and benefit from this programme, and tackles a provocative question — whether completing it guarantees a well-paid job in the DH/IT sector. In addition, the discussion outlines realistic internship opportunities and potential employers, concluding with several valuable tips for anyone considering studies in RTU’s Digital Humanities Master’s programme.
