The 19th ISFNR Congress Will Take Place in Riga

The Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia, in cooperation with the International Society for Folk Narrative Research (ISFNR), invites submissions for participation in the 19th ISFNR Congress, which will take place in Riga from June 17 to 21, 2024. The theme of the congress is “Folk Narratives in a Changing World.” Meetings of ISFNR committees are also planned during the congress. The working language of the congress is English. Paper presentations will be 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion. To apply for participation, please complete the congress application form available at the provided link and submit an abstract of up to 300 words. The application deadline is December 15, 2023.

The ISFNR Congress, held during the summer solstice period, will form part of the centenary celebrations of the Latvian Folklore Archives. More detailed information about the congress programme, submission process, and registration is available on the congress website.
