Seminar "Scopus AI and JSTOR AI Research Tool: A Hands-On Workshop for Researchers"

On 28 October 2026 at 15.00, a seminar will take place in the Reading Room of the Archives of Latvian Folklore (ALF), located on the 5th floor of the National Library of Latvia at Mūkusalas Street 3, Riga, as well as online. The event is part of a seminar series organised by digitalhumanities.lv in collaboration with CLARIN-LV and DARIAH-EU, focusing on digital humanities and historical research.

In the workshop “Scopus AI and JSTOR AI Research Tool: A Hands-On Workshop for Researchers”, Māris Pavlovs and Linda Valle, Senior Librarians at the University of Latvia Library, will explain and demonstrate how Scopus AI and JSTOR AI Research Tool can support academic information retrieval. Participants will explore the AI tools available in these databases, learn effective approaches to information searching, and test the tools’ functionality through practical exercises. The workshop is intended for researchers and doctoral students who wish to enhance their skills in working with scholarly information.

Participants are required to bring a laptop. Attendees are also advised to arrive 15 minutes before the event starts so that we can check their internet connection and access to the tools used during the workshop.

Please register whether you plan to attend the seminar in person in the ALF Reading Room or online: https://forms.gle/JExuWDVGL7p9gaxFA

The seminar is organised as part of the project "The History of Latvia in the 20th and 21st Centuries: Social Morphogenesis, Heritage and Challenges" (VPP-IZM-Vēsture-2023/1-0003).
