International conference on small literatures in Europe

On March 19 and 20, the University of Luxembourg will host a scientific seminar "Small Literatures in Europe: Definition, Concepts, Typology, and Methods for Comparative Study", co-organized by the Institute of Folklore and Art, University of Latvia (ILFA), and the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences. The organizers of the conference are Professor Jeanne E. Glesener of the University of Luxembourg, Professor Marko Juvan (Slovenia), and Benedikts Kalnačs, leading researcher at the ILFA.

The event aims to discuss the forms of European small literatures, their traditions and future prospects, with special attention to research methodology. One of the tasks of the seminar is developing the guidelines for the collective monograph "A Comparative History of Small Literatures in Europe". The study is planned to be published in the series "Comparative Studies of Literatures in European Languages", coordinated by the Publications Committee (CHLEL) of the  International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA).
