Selection Process for Academic Positions Concluded (13 November 2024)

The UL Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art (UL ILFA) announces that the selection process for academic positions has concluded. On 13 November 2024, the UL ILFA Scientific Council, in a closed vote, elected the following candidates:

  • Zita Kārkla was elected Senior Researcher in the field of humanities and arts, subfield of comparative literature, with a specialization in women’s writing and feminism.

  • Simona Sofija Valka was elected Researcher in the field of humanities and arts, subfield of comparative literature, with a specialization in Latvian literature in the context of regional processes, and an additional specialization in intercultural studies.

  • Digne Ūdre-Lielbārde was elected Researcher in the field of humanities and arts, subfield of Latvian folkloristics (under music, visual arts, and architecture), with a specialization in cultural process research, including the development of folkloristic methods and theories, and the study of contemporary vernacular cultural practices.
