Selection for academic positions completed (29 January 2025)

The selection process for academic positions at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia has been completed.
On 29 January 2025, the Scientific Council of ILFA held a closed vote to elect candidates to the following positions:

Una Smilgaine was elected Researcher in the Humanities and Arts, in the field of Latvian Folkloristics (music, visual arts, and architecture), with a specialization in cultural practices and heritage studies.

Zaiga Pleiko was elected Research Assistant in the Humanities and Arts, in the field of Latvian Folkloristics (music, visual arts, and architecture), also with a specialization in cultural practices and heritage studies.

Elvis Friks was elected Research Assistant in the Humanities and Arts, in the field of Comparative Literary Studies (linguistics and literary studies), with a specialization in postcolonial and contemporary cultural processes in literature, in both Baltic and comparative contexts.
