Researcher Ivars Šteinbergs in an international lecture series

On April 9, 2024, Ivars Šteinbergs, researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (LU LFMI), participated online in the international lecture series “Coloniality and Decoloniality in Translation” organized by the University of Freiburg (Germany).
Šteinbergs delivered a lecture titled “Translating Poetry into Latvian: Decoloniality, Global Modernism, and the Pitfalls of Representation”, which explored the translation of poetry into Latvian in the late 20th century and today.
The next lectures in the series will take place on May 7 at 16:00 (Latvia time), featuring Johanna Pink, and on May 21, featuring Joshua M. Price. Registration is available [here].
