Presentation of the Archives of Latvian Folklore Audiovisual Archive at the IASA Conference

From September 23 to 26, 2024, the annual conference of the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) took place in Valencia, Spain. During the public meeting of archives, institutions gave brief presentations introducing their audiovisual collections and current developments.

Alongside archives from Australia, Serbia, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Argentina, the Czech Republic, the United States, and Colombia, ethnomusicologist Ieva Vīvere presented the audiovisual resources of the Archives of Latvian Folklore online.

The LFK archive was introduced within the broader context of audiovisual archives, which includes music and heritage archives, (ethno)musicology institutes, universities, national museums and archives, as well as archives of endangered languages and communities. The Archives of Latvian Folklore joined the IASA network in 2023.
