Participation in the Latvian circular economy forum
For the first time, on November 5 in Riga, the Latvian Circular Economy Forum took place, featuring participation from ILFA researcher Kitija Balcare, whose research interests focus on the relationship between sustainability and the arts.
The forum program also included a session she co-organized titled “Circular Principles in the Performing Arts”, created in collaboration with Rihards Gāle, producer at the Latvian National Theatre, and Pamela Butāne, chief artist and set designer at the Latvia Puppet Theatre.
During the forum, the researcher introduced participants to both global and Latvian experiences in the transition toward circular thinking in the performing arts — encompassing theatre building operations, production processes, and everyday behavioral changes within theatres.
