Online Lectures on Cultural Heritage in Times of War

At the end of last year, within the framework of the project “Capacity Building for Data-Driven Cultural Heritage Management in Ukraine” (Data4UA), six online lectures were held on the preservation, research, and restoration of cultural heritage under military threat. The lectures were led by researchers and professors from the Lviv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine), Space4CC (Greece/Norway), the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), and the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (ILFA).

The lectures are in English, with some content translated into Ukrainian, and are freely accessible to the public via the project website (data4ua.eu) and on YouTube:

The project aims to:

  • Evaluate the actions of higher education institutions and civil society in response to emergencies affecting cultural heritage in Ukraine,

  • Enhance the knowledge and skills of university staff and students in cultural heritage protection, and

  • Examine the role of universities in supporting societal responses to cultural heritage crises.
