Māra Grudule will participate in a conference dedicated to Bēlendorfs

The year 2025 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth (May 16, 1775) and the 200th anniversary of the death (April 10, 1825) of Kazimir Ulrich Boehlendorff, a Baltic German poet.

These anniversaries have inspired the organization of an international conference, which will take place from May 14 to 16 at the Latvian National Library’s main building. The conference will be held in German, with no translation into Latvian.

Among the speakers is Māra Grudule, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (UL ILFA), who will give a presentation titled:
“Riga: Boehlendorff’s Reception in the Latvian Cultural Space” (Riga: Boehlendorffs Rezeption im lettischen Kulturraum).
