Māra Grudule and Ginta Pērle-Sīle will participate in the seminar “Latvian Writings and Writing in the Baltic Region in the 16th–19th Centuries: Current Research Issues and Challenges”

On January 12 of this year, the 14th International Seminar entitled “Latvian Writings and Writing in the Baltic Region in the 16th–19th Centuries: Current Research Issues and Challenges” will take place. The seminar is devoted to the study of written materials from earlier centuries from a variety of perspectives.

The interdisciplinary seminar will bring together linguists and literary scholars, who will present current research and recent discoveries. Among the participants will be researchers from the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (UL ILFA): Ginta Pērle-Sīle with the paper “Regulations on the Establishment of Grain Stores in the Rauza and Mēri Manors in 1796: Documents, Authors, and the Translator”, and Māra Grudule with the presentation “German Translations of Latvian Folk Songs in the First Decades of the 20th Century.”
