Madara Eversone and Edīte Tišheizere will participate in the conference ‘Literary Knowledge for the Modern Librarian’
On 19 September 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:40 p.m., the annual conference “Literary Knowledge for the Modern Librarian” will take place online on the Zoom platform.
At the conference, Madara Eversone, researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (LU LFMI), will present the paper “The Writer and the Era: Gunārs Priede,” while Edīte Tišheizere, Leading Researcher at LU LFMI, will deliver the paper “Theatre: Traditions and Innovations.”
The conference is organized by the Library Development Centre of the National Library of Latvia. Its aim is to foster librarians’ interest in the work of Latvian authors in fiction and related fields, as well as to highlight other research-related aspects of these areas, thereby expanding library professionals’ knowledge of recent publications—including books acquired within the project “Writers and Their Works: Latvian Authors and Literature in Latvian Libraries.”
The literary conference is organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia (LU HZF), Department of Latvian and Baltic Studies, and the programme is largely provided by its academic staff and researchers. Presentations have also been prepared by LU LFMI researchers and Latvian writers.
