LU LFMI researchers at the conference Culture Crossroads
Next week, the Latvian Academy of Culture’s annual conference Culture Crossroads will continue with an extensive programme. This year, the conference offers a series of events.
On 8 November, the opening conference of the State Research Programme project CERS will take place. Among the participants will be Edīte Tišheizere, researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (LU LFMI), with the paper “The Unsaid, the Understood. Reassessing Soviet Art: Reading Metaphors and Subtexts.”

On 9 November, the conference “The Polyphony of Song and Dance Festival Memories” will take place, featuring a paper by Ilze Šarkovska-Liepiņa, researcher at LU LFMI, titled “The Prehistory of the Song Festival: Early Latvian Choral Repertoire and Its Role in Community Integration.”

On the final day, a thematic section conference will be held. Among the participants will be Elvīra Žvarte, research assistant at LU LFMI and doctoral student at the Latvian Academy of Culture, with the paper “Cultural Gerontology: A Kaleidoscope of Ageing Experiences.”
