“Letonica” continues to hold Q1 status in the "Scopus" database
We are pleased to announce that Letonica, the scholarly journal published by the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (ILFA), has maintained its prestigious Q1 quartile status in the latest ranking of the international citation database Scopus, based on the 2025 metrics.
Particularly noteworthy is the journal’s performance in the Literature and Literary Theory category, where it ranks in the 93rd percentile, holding position 73 out of 1,186 journals. This achievement demonstrates Letonica’s international visibility and significance within the field of literary studies. The journal has also been awarded Q1 status in the categories of Visual Arts and Performing Arts, History, and Music, while in Cultural Studies it is ranked in the Q2 quartile.
The journal’s placement in the Q1 and Q2 quartiles indicates that the citation impact of its published original research articles reaches at least 50% of the average citation impact within the respective field. Percentile rankings show how highly a journal is positioned in comparison with other journals in the same Scopus category. For example, Letonica’s placement in the 93rd percentile in the Literature and Literary Theory category means that it ranks higher than approximately 93% of journals in that field according to the relevant metric.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and all cooperation partners for their contribution to strengthening the journal’s quality and international recognition.
