Kitija Balcare will take part in the Baltic Drama Forum Week conference

As part of Baltic Drama Forum Week, on 3–4 November, an international academic conference titled “Acting. Reacting. Enacting. Theory and Practice in Performing Arts” will take place in cooperation with the Association of Nordic Theatre Studies (ANTS). Theatre scholars from the Baltic countries, Scandinavia, and other regions will gather at Zirgu pasts.

The conference will feature a paper by Kitija Balcare, scientific assistant at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (LU LFMI), titled “Performing the Rewriting of the Relationship between Women and the World: an Ecofeminist Approach to Performance ‘Malleus Maleficarum. The New Contract’ (2023).”

The paper was developed as part of the project “Latvia’s Cultural Ecosystem as a Resource for National Resilience and Sustainability” (CERS) (No. VPP-MM-LKRVA-2023/1-0001), funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia within the State Research Programme “Latvian Culture – a Resource for National Development” (2023–2026). The State Research Programme is administered by the Latvian Council of Science.
