Journey as a Literary Theme and Literature as a Journey

As part of German Language Month in Latvia, the Baltic-German University Liaison Office, in cooperation with the Faculty of History and Philosophy of the University of Latvia, will host a scholarly evening on April 4 titled “Journey as a Literary Theme and Literature as a Journey between Tradition and Innovation.”

The event will take place at the University of Latvia Library (4 Kalpaka Boulevard) and on Zoom, in German with simultaneous English translation.

Benedikts Kalnačs, leading researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (LU LFMI), will deliver a presentation titled “Tradition and Innovation: Rūdolfs Blaumanis’s Short Stories in the Mirror of German Literature.”
