Jānis Daugavietis participated in a conference in Porto

From 10 to 13 July, UL ILFA researcher Jānis Daugavietis participated with the paper “Measuring the Size of Rīga’s New Scene – A Methodological Elaboration” at the world’s leading conference for music subculture researchers, KISMIF, traditionally held in Porto, Portugal.
Marking the tenth anniversary of KISMIF and the fiftieth anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, this was the largest KISMIF forum to date, bringing together around 300 researchers, musicians, and performance artists from almost every continent. KISMIF stands for “Keep It Simple and Make It Fast”, and this year’s conference theme was “DIY Cultures, Democracy and Creative Participation.”
