Inguna Daukste-Silasproģe and Arnolds Klotiņš participate in the conference “Acts. Facts. Artifacts”
On November 23–24, the Museum of Literature and Music (hereafter MLM) will host its annual scholarly conference. This year, the museum is launching a new series of conferences and edited volumes titled “Acts. Facts. Artifacts,” aimed at addressing current issues in museum studies in Latvia and exploring the collections of various Latvian museums.
Researchers from the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (UL ILFA) will also take part in the conference: Inguna Daukste-Silasproģe with the paper “American Miniatures: A Manuscript from Guntis Zariņš’s Collection,” and Arnolds Klotiņš with the presentation “White Spots in Music History and the Museum of Literature and Music.”

The conference will focus on bringing to light lesser-known museum collections and objects, as well as exploring the potential of contemporary digital collections in dialogue with the latest theories and practices in museology. Presentations will address unusual, forgotten, underexplored, or still-emerging parts of museum collections within a contemporary paradigm.
The conference will take place at the MLM cultural venue “Tintnīca.” A live stream will be available on the museum’s website rmm.lv, as well as on the MLM pages on Facebook and YouTube, where viewers will be able to ask questions and take part in discussions.
