Ilga Vālodze Ābelkina’s article on folklore ensemble initiatives as responses to the war in Ukraine
Research assistant Ilga Vālodze Ābelkina of the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art at the University of Latvia has published an article titled “Latvian Folklore Ensembles and Their Initiatives against Russia’s War in Ukraine,” which discusses the initiatives of Latvian folklore ensembles in response to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
The article was published in the first 2026 issue of the journal "Baltic Worlds". This issue is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. The publication stands out for its topical and socially significant theme, as well as for the journal’s accessible and well-structured format.
