ILFA Researchers Honored by the Latvian Academy of Sciences for Outstanding Scientific Achievement

On February 28, 2025, the Latvian Academy of Sciences held its annual award ceremony recognizing the laureates of its prestigious competition for the most significant scientific achievements of the year.
Already in early January, the Academy had announced twelve individual and collective recipients of this honor. We are proud and delighted that among them was the editorial team from the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art (ILFA), University of Latvia, recognized for their work on Volume 13 of Latviešu tautasdziesmas (Latvian Folk Songs), titled “Life in Communities. Twilight Years. Funerals.”
The volume was compiled by Ginta Pērle-Sīle, Elga Melne, Una Smilgaine, Arta Krūze, Zaiga Pleiko, Beatrise Reidzāne, Dārta Letīcija Slavika, Solveiga Ozolniece, and Māra Vīksna.
We wholeheartedly congratulate the team on this well-deserved recognition!
