ILFA is honored with three national recognitions
On 27 May, Minister of Culture Agnese Lāce presented Cabinet of Ministers Certificates of Recognition, Special Certificates of Recognition of the Ministry of Culture, and Certificates of Recognition of the Ministry of Culture to outstanding contributors in Latvia’s cultural sector during a ceremonial event held at the Latvian National Museum of History in Riga Castle.
A Cabinet of Ministers Certificate of Recognition was awarded to the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art, University of Latvia for its significant contribution to the humanities, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the development of contemporary literary processes in Latvia.
The highest distinction conferred by the Ministry of Culture—the Special Certificate of Recognition—was awarded to Edīte Tišheizere, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art, University of Latvia, and editor of Teātra Vēstnesis, in recognition of her outstanding long-term contribution to Latvian theatre research, the analysis of contemporary developments, and the promotion of theatre culture.
A Certificate of Recognition of the Ministry of Culture was awarded to the team behind literatura.lv for ten years of work in developing and maintaining a nationally significant, freely accessible platform dedicated to literary knowledge and cultural heritage.
The Cabinet of Ministers Certificate of Recognition is awarded to express the Government’s appreciation to individuals, including foreign nationals, for outstanding achievements in fields such as the economy, science, education, healthcare, environmental protection, public administration, culture, sports, and national defence. Nominations may be submitted to the Awards Council by the Prime Minister, ministers, heads of municipalities, the Chair of the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments, or leaders of other non-governmental organisations. The award was established by the Cabinet of Ministers in April 1995.
The Special Certificate of Recognition, Certificate of Recognition, and Letter of Appreciation of the Ministry of Culture are granted to individuals and state or municipal institutions in acknowledgement of achievements, contributions, and activities in the fields of culture, social integration, and media policy.
