Ieva Vīvere introduces school students in Sigulda to the digital repository of historical sources

On 2 October, Ieva Vīvere, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (ILFA), visited Sigulda State Gymnasium, where she invited Grade 12d students to try out the new digital platform “Repository of Historical Sources” as part of their specialised course in Local Studies.

The students were invited to contribute materials from their own families related to Latvian history to the digital repository, thereby taking part in testing and improving the platform. The repository will help historians explore which events in Latvian history are preserved in family stories and objects.

The “Repository of Historical Sources” is being developed within the State Research Programme project “Latvian History of the 20th–21st Century: Social Morphogenesis, Heritage and Challenges”, project No. VPP-IZM-Vēsture-2023/1-0003.
