Ieva Melgalve has obtained Ph. D.

UL ILFA research assistant Ieva Melgalve has obtained a doctoral degree (Ph. D.) in the humanities and arts.

On 11 December 2025, at the Art Academy of Latvia, Ieva Melgalve defended her doctoral thesis “Carriers of Memory: Innovations in Process and Materiality in the Use of Photography in Latvian Contemporary Art".

We congratulate Ieva on this significant achievement and wish her continued success in her research!
