Elīza Paula Graudiņa and Paula Lāce attend the “Bridges in the Baltics” conference in Warsaw

On 25-26 September 2026, the 13th Baltic Students’ Conference “Bridges in the Baltics” took place in Warsaw, organised by the Subdepartment of Baltic Studies at the University of Warsaw. Two emerging researchers from the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (UL ILFA) also participated in the conference, presenting their research.

Elīza Paula Graudiņa, a research assistant at UL ILFA, presented a paper entitled “Same Stories on Different Stages: Literary Works Adapted for Theatre in Lithuania and Latvia (2025–2026),” focusing on theatrical adaptations of literary works in Latvia and Lithuania during 2025–2026.

Paula Lāce, a visiting research assistant at UL ILFA, presented a paper entitled “Marija Pēkšēna: The First Latvian Woman Playwright,” focusing on Marija Pēkšēna and her place in the history of Latvian drama.

The conference aims to foster academic exchange and collaboration among emerging researchers in Baltic Studies, bringing together undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students from various countries. The event gathered young researchers whose studies and research focus on the languages, literature, culture, folklore, art, history, and memory studies of the Baltic states.
