Dace Bula and Kitija Balcare – at the EASLCE conference in Utrecht
Leading researcher Dace Bula and researcher Kitija Balcare from the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia will participate in the international environmental humanities conference “NonHuman Resistance and Multispecies (In)Justice”, taking place from April 14 to 17 in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Dace Bula will present a paper titled “Sand vs. Humans: Contested Agency in Alberts Bels’ Novel People in Boats*,”* while Kitija Balcare will address the topic “Ecotheatre as an Interspace: Wounded Landscapes and the Traps Within.”
The conference is organized by the European Association for the Study of Literature, Culture, and Environment (EASLCE) in cooperation with Utrecht University. It brings together researchers from various countries to discuss the interactions between environment, culture, and society, with particular attention to the role of literature, the arts, and the humanities in shaping a sustainable future.
The EASLCE conference is held biennially and focuses on current issues in the environmental humanities. More information about the conference and its programme is available HERE.
