Benedikts Kalnačs participates in an Ibsen conference in Zurich

From 25–27 June 2026, the University of Zurich will host the XVI International Ibsen Conference “Ibsen’s Topicality”, dedicated to the study of the works of the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen.

Benedikts Kalnačs, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia, will participate in the conference with a paper entitled "Realism in Ibsen and Brecht: From the Pillars of Society to the Good Person".

The conference paper was prepared within the framework of the project "Reclaiming Latvian Realism: Literary Innovation as Identity Quest" (lzp-2024/1-0341). Benedikts Kalnačs’s participation in the conference is supported by the State Culture Capital Foundation of Latvia.
