Benedikts Kalnačs at a conference in Ljubljana

On 3–4 November 2023, the international conference “Big Data, Small Literatures” takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The conference is organized by the Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Slovenian Comparative Literature Association, and the Centre for Humanities of the University of Nova Gorica.

The conference focuses on research possibilities related to so-called small literatures, drawing on both digital humanities resources and contemporary research methodologies. As part of the conference, Benedikts Kalnačs, leading researcher at the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (LU LFMI), will participate in a round-table discussion addressing issues related to the definition and study of small literatures.

Participation in the conference takes place within the framework of the State Research Programme “Letonica for the Development of a Latvian and European Society”, project “Narrative, Form, and Voice: The Embeddedness of Literature in Culture and Society” (No. VPP-LETONIKA-2022/3-0003).
