An article by Benedikts Kalnačs on small literatures published in "Recherche littéraire / Literary Research"

An article by the leading researcher of the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia, Benedikts Kalnačs, entitled Towards a Definition of Small Literatures, has been published in Issue 41 of Recherche littéraire / Literary Research, the annual journal of the International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA). The article was co-authored with Professor Jeanne E. Glesener of the University of Luxembourg and Senior Research Fellow Marko Juvan of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

The article focuses on the methodology of researching small literatures and outlines directions for future research. One of its principal aims is to establish a contemporary theoretical framework for the study of small literatures, thereby supporting the preparation of a collective monograph dedicated to this topic. The study is being developed for publication in the Comparative Histories of Literatures in European Languages (CHLEL) series, one of the most respected publication series in the field of comparative literary studies.
