Aigars Lielbārdis is participating in the ISFNR conference

From 12 to 15 June, the Committee on Charms, Charmers and Charming of the International Society for Folk Narrative Research (ISFNR) is holding its annual conference in Helsinki, Finland. This year’s theme is “Conflicts and Catastrophes.” The event is organized by the Folklore Studies Department of the University of Helsinki in cooperation with the Finnish Literature Society.

The Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia (ILFA) is represented at the conference by researcher Aigars Lielbārdis, who will give a paper entitled “Revitalization of Healing Traditions as Part of the Latvian Folk Revival.”

Participation in the conference is part of the research project “The Folklore Movement in Latvia: Resources, Ideologies and Practices” (lzp-2021/1-0243).
