Project Development of digital teaching materials for teachers for the basic education subject “Latvian Language” (Grades 1–9) and for the secondary education courses “Latvian Language I” and “Latvian Language and Literature II"
Measure 4.2.2.3 “Improving the quality of the learning process through the development of a support system for teachers’ professional activities, the provision of excellence activities for learners, and the creation of methodological support materials for teachers” under the European Union Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027, Specific Objective 2.2 “To improve the quality, inclusiveness, efficiency, and labour market relevance of education and training systems, including through the validation of non-formal and informal learning, in order to support the acquisition of key competences, including entrepreneurship and digital skills, and to promote the implementation of dual education systems and apprenticeships.”
With the aim of improving the overall quality of the learning process in the country, the project develops digital methodological materials for teachers for the basic education subject “Latvian Language” (Grades 1–9) and for the secondary education courses “Latvian Language I” and “Latvian Language and Literature II.” At the conclusion of the project, these materials will be uploaded to the State Education Development Agency’s (VIAA) e-environment MAPE.
During project implementation, curricula are reviewed and improved, and a comprehensive set of methodological materials is created accordingly, including:

thematic plans;

lesson learning outcomes;

ideas and suggestions for lesson organization;

resources to be used (including tasks developed by the project authors);

methodological comments containing information about resources and methodological recommendations for their implementation;

suggestions for differentiating the learning process or tasks;

suggestions for formative assessment;

summative assessment tasks for both the basic education subject “Latvian Language (Grades 1–9)” (1,429 hours) and the secondary education courses “Latvian Language I” (210 hours) and “Latvian Language and Literature II”(210 hours).
A part of the methodological material set will be piloted in general education institutions during the learning process and in teacher seminars.
