Department of Arts

The department is established in 1968; six researchers are currently employed in it. From 1992 to 2014 the department was led by Dr. art. Guna Zeltiņa, from 2015 the head of department is Dr. art. Arnolds Klotiņš, from 2022 the head of department is Dr. art. Edīte Tišheizere.

From 2010 until 2012 a research work within an ERDF project "Latvian theatre and theatre science in Europe: a preparation and submission of an international project ["Latvijas teātris un teātra zinātne Eiropā: starptautiska sadarbības projekta sagatave un iesniegšana"]. From 2009 until 2012 LCS (Latvian Council of Science) project "Latvian theatre, music and cinema" ["Latviešu teātris, mūzika un kino"] has been carried out. The research fellows from Theatre, music and cinema art department participate also in the development of state research program "National identity" with both separate researches and articles, and participating in international and local conferences.
